Volunteers

There are so many ways in which you can become involved. The key to successful volunteering is to only take on as much or as little as you can manage:

Join the Sustrans Ranger Team! In 1998 a voluntary Ranger scheme was implemented drawing upon people who are keen to look after sections of route near to their home. Volunteer rangers operate all over the country taking care of places such as the Greenway. You may only have a couple of hours a month to help or it might become one of your main pastimes. It is entirely up to you! Contact us at rangers@spenvalleygreenway.com or visit Sustran's Community Rangers for more details.

Spread the word - Visit the Greenway and then tell you friends about it. The more people that frequent the route, the less remote it is and hence safer for us all.

Make a note of the local police number 0845 6060606 and report any incidents of fly tipping, vandalism or other nuisance behaviour.

Come along to any of the organised events on the Greenway - See events list for details

Look after a small stretch of the Greenway that is local to where you live

Report motorbikes
using the Greenway to the police as soon as you can and get a record of your call log number

Offer any special practical skills that you may have

Any other offers of help will be readily accepted - contact us at rangers@spenvalleygreenway.com
