Greenway Info

The Spen Valley Greenway is a green corridor that runs alongside the old  Spen Valley railway. The 10 kilometre Greenway is a surfaced track for cyclists which is also open to walkers, horse riders and wheelchair users. This exiting new route will eventually link the cities of Bradford and Wakefield via Cleckheaton, Liversedge, Heckmondwike and Dewsbury. At last we have an alternative to the busy roadside. A safe route that meanders through the heart of the Spen Valley, beautifully landscaped and embellished with sculpture, managed by a team of Sustrans rangers working in partnership with Kirklees Council.
